Okay, so I made a post a few days ago stating that I was really reserved about F.E.A.R. 2 because of some high-def videos I saw on videogamer.com. Well, I’m going to retract my statement after playing the demo, which is available for download from Steam. The graphics are pretty dang solid, the atmosphere is spot on, and the only thing that really stood out to me was the smoke effects–they felt a little off in comparison to the rest of the game. The lighting on the flash light is better than any other flashlight I’ve seen in a game, but it tends to make the enemies look a little too bright when you’re close. There’s also a mech part included in the demo, and while the mechanics of it didn’t blow me away (and I still don’t really understand those parts), it was decently fun to run around, blowing stuff up. You get a sort of static-happy screen overlay while you’re in the suit so it looks pretty cool. Anyway, you don’t have to listen to me babble on here. Go grab the demo and check it out for yourself. If your computer can’t handle something of this magnitude, check out the screenshots and video below.

Nice screen shots and a well done article!
