If you haven’t heard of this site, you’ve got to check it out! Over the years, there have been some incredibly impressive and memorable tunes in our favorite games. Video game music composers have demonstrated that they are on par if not above conventional writers. Well, prepare to feel the rush of enjoying your all-time favorite game tunes in remix form, brought to you by hundreds of amazingly talented composers from all types of backgrounds! I know what most of you probably think when you hear the word ‘remix.’ Don’t worry, it’s not some sad attempt of scraped together midi tunes put together by untalented schmucks. Every song on the site must be approved by a board of judges who know their stuff and really nitpick every aspect of the compositions that are sent in.
The coolest part of the site is the albums they put together that are focused on a single game. My favorites are Voices of the Lifestream (Final Fantasy 7), Chrono Symphonic (Chrono Trigger), and Relics of the Chozo (Super Metroid). This is some real high quality stuff here and shouldn’t be missed. Personally I love tossing these on my MP3 player so I can reminisce about my favorite games anywhere.
This link will get you there: http://www.ocremix.org/
You can either peruse the remixes sorted by game and title by clicking “remixes” on the left, or, for the albums, click “albums” under browse or projects.
Also, check out this incredible Earthbound album called ‘Bound Together.’ It has contributions made from OCRemix remixers, but apparently isn’t an actual OCRemix project: http://www.wushuplaya.com/boundtogether/

I’d actually highly recommend the Voices of the Lifestream album. It’s very well done, and certainly gives a fresh perspective on many of the amazing songs from the game.
I do wish they’d make an album for FFVIII though.
